Our commitment to creating a better tomorrow is reflected in our sustainability strategy, which focuses strongly on environmental responsibility. Our whole value chain relies on the resilience of our agricultural system.
- Regenerative Farming
We have partnered with Improvin’ to develop a farm data platform across five countries, enabling us to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions from farming. Together with our customers, we started to implement Regenerative Farming, also promoting improved soil health and biodiversity. - Our Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
Viking Malt has committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030. In 2024, we achieved a 2% reduction in our Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity. - Water efficiency in production
Since 2020, we have reduced our process water usage from 3,1 to 2,8 m3/ton of malt. We are working on further improvements, however, natural variation in crop quality will continue to impact the result, as we saw in 2024.
Our sustainability journey is enabled by the dedication of our entire team. We will continue our hard work towards positive impacts on the environment and society.
