At Viking Malt, we have focused on corporate social responsibility (Environment, Labor Practices, Fair Business Practices, Sustainable Procurement) during several years already. Certified environmental, quality and food safety management systems are good starting points for systematic improvement of performance, whereas participating in Sedex and EcoVadis has helped us to identify the main improvement areas. Both our activities and customer expectations have focused most strongly on the environment theme. We have reached the Golden level of EcoVadis rating, and recently, Viking Malt Group has decided to take part in the CDP Disclosure to improve our operations and help to control climate change.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is represented in the top management of our new organization. We have also initiated strategic projects with CSR themes. Viking Malt has published its Corporate Social Responsibility report 2017, and a CSR team has been formed to create a new strategy and action plans for continuous improvement. A Code of conduct was released for better supplier communication and co-operation, with the aim of improving performance within the supply chain.
